The Brecon Beacons heeft een schitterende natuur. Het is door de Unesco erkend als Geopark. Het gebied bezit een oppervlakte van 1.350 vierkante kilometer. Bezienswaardig zijn onder meer de Pen Y Fan (met 886 meter de hoogste berg van Zuid-Wales), bossen, vlaktes, grotten en een gletsjermeer.
