De East Lyn is een rivier die hoog in Exmoor ontspringt, in de Engelse graafschap Somerset. Het stroomt door de East Lyn-vallei in Devon.
De rivier wordt gevormd als de Upper East Lyn bij Malmsmead vanuit twee kleinere zijrivieren, de Oare Water en Badgworthy Water. Het stroomt enkele mijlen, langs Brendon en komt samen met Hoar Oak Water bij Watersmeet, waar Watersmeet House is gelegen. De rivier stroomt vervolgens door een smalle kloofsectie, voordat het stroomafwaarts verder gaat voor nog eens 2,5 mijl totdat de rivier de West Lyn River ontmoet en in het Bristol Kanaal stroomt bij Lynmouth.
