Deze middeleeuwse poort aan de Via Sant'Agata en in het verlengde van de Via di Tontanella in Siena is één van de oude toegangspoorten tot de stad.
Er recht tegenover staat de straatfontein van de Contrada Capitana dell'Onda die de vorm van een vis heeft.
In Siena zijn er 17 Contrada's (wijken). Elke contrada heeft zijn kerk en zijn fontein waarin gedoopt wordt.
