Rjukan is een plaats in de gemeente Tinn in de provincie Vestfold og Telemark in Noorwegen. Het is een van de weinige steden in Noorwegen die op de tekentafel zijn ontworpen.
De plaats ligt in het Hjartdal, ten zuidoosten van de hoogvlakte Hardangervidda. Omliggende plaatsen zijn Vinje, Tokke, Seljord en Notodden.
