Als je duiven voedt in Bryant Park, ben je in goed gezelschap. Ook de beroemde wetenschapper Nikola Tesla voedde de duiven in dit park. Hij zei dat hij een speciale relatie had met een van de vrouwelijke duiven van het park. Aan een verslaggever zei hij: "Er is één duif die echt speciaal is, ik hou van die duif zoals een man van een vrouw houdt, die duif geeft betekenis aan mijn leven."
Aan het einde van zijn leven was Tesla een erg eenzame man. En deze duiven waren een van de weinige wezens op aarde die hem nog wat genegenheid gaven.
