Hawaï of Hawaii is een eilandengroep en een van de staten van de Verenigde Staten. De eilanden zijn allemaal van vulkanische oorsprong en liggen in het Polynesische deel van de Grote Oceaan. In de 19e eeuw was Hawaï een zelfstandig koninkrijk en in 1959 trad het als vijftigste staat toe tot de Verenigde Staten. De hoofdstad is Honolulu. De staat telt 1.427.538 inwoners . De standaardafkorting voor Hawaï, die als bijnaam The Aloha State heeft, is HI.
De staat is vernoemd naar haar grootste eiland, dat ook de naam Hawaï heeft. De naam zou afgeleid zijn van een legendarische Polynesische navigator Hawaiʻiloa die de eilanden ontdekt zou hebben.
