Villa so-called "Valkenhuis", beautifully situated country house on the Grote Kil in the Albertuspolder, diked in 1612, on the border with the Netherlands. Built in 1938 to a design by architect J. Loontjens (Ghent) in regionalist style referring to the local rural architecture. The formerly white-painted mansion shows a typical play of volume under tiled roofs, high gables, windows with small rod divisions and shutters and a brick-framed door, and decorative buttresses at the corners.
