The prehistoric village in Genneper Parken in Eindhoven is a historical open-air museum that is part of Eindhoven Museum. The museum shows 6 different eras through archaeological reconstructions of buildings and through living history: the time of hunters and gatherers, the time of the first farmers, the Indigenous-Roman period, the time of the Vikings and Franks, the time of trade and cities and the Eighty Years' War.
The historical inhabitants of the village (called time guides) meet the visitors at their yards, farms or craft houses for a trip back in time. They are dressed according to the costumes of the relevant era. They give guided tours, tell stories and demonstrate the activities of the daily life of our ancestors. Visitors can also get started with all kinds of historical activities, such as fire making, archery, ironsmithing, javelin throwing, pottery or weaving.
