Hundertwasser was almost unique in his artistic work, but there are influences from other artists. The influence of Antoni Gaudí (1852–1926) can be seen in his architecture, especially in the organic forms and the tile and mosaic work of Hundertwasser. He was also inspired by the work of the Austrians Egon Schiele (1890–1918) and Gustav Klimt (1862–1918). Hundertwasser was fascinated by spiral shapes and called straight lines "wicked and immoral"
