If you walk through the Buytenpark Zoetermeer, you will pass the cemetery, sports fields, Ayers Rock, SnowWorld, allotments and a recreation area. Cycling clubs, a dog club and a theatre group are also among the regular users of the park. The Buytenpark Zoetermeer is more than 100 hectares in size and there is a clear difference between the wild western part and the park-like eastern part.
The eastern part of the Buytenpark Zoetermeer is the oldest part and borders the Buytenwegh district. If you go for a walk from there, you will pass sports fields, a cemetery, SnowWorld and Ayersrock.
The recreation area of the western part has a hilly landscape. Hills in Zoetermeer? Yes! A former rubble dump has been covered with soil and transformed into natural-looking hills. It has become a grazing area where various cattle and sheep are put in to keep the park 'wild'.
