Walk through the Rietberg Garden Show Park

The tour starts in the park area of Rietberg-Neuenkirchen. "The Green Castle" - invites you into a hidden world. Wooded areas and water channels enclose the park with its magnificent flower and perennial galleries. Directly at the North entrance, a large picnic and sunbathing area with giant building blocks invites you to linger. From there, the path leads past the Red Perennial Gallery to the Pleasure Garden. This is located right next to the Hall of Mirrors and the Music Room. It is worth stopping by here not only for music enthusiasts. Europe's largest outdoor organ, built according to historical models with 168 pipes, awaits you and should definitely be tried out. At the Place of Cultures, you can get an insight into the different religions. Especially on warm days, it is worth staying at the nearby large water playground. Just a few meters away are the themed gardens with tips and suggestions for your own garden. The nearby Rose Garden is an absolute dream and worth a closer look. For sports enthusiasts, a short detour to the adjacent fitness trail is also worthwhile beforehand. Those who wish can work up a sweat here. Things often heat up in the nearby Volksbank Arena, where there is a varied program. Further entertainment, especially for children, can be found in the playrooms planned by children and teenagers for children, which delight their visitors between the small animal breeders' facilities and the exit to Stennerlandstraße. In the next part of the park is the Climate Park, where exhibition contributions on climate protection and renewable energies can be admired. Along the same path are also the stage of the region, where neighboring municipalities introduce themselves with information panels, and the partnership gardens. The path leads past the hedge labyrinth, where skill is required, and later past the contributions of schools and archaeology, as well as the Bible village. The Bible village of the Protestant church community is a unique project nationwide. The beekeepers also present themselves in direct proximity to the natural garden. Now you pass through the nature reserve and FFH area of Rietberger Emsniederungen, which can be better overviewed from the 18-meter-high observation tower. Here you will also find the Nature Forum and in the following small forest the high ropes course "schnurstracks", where you can demonstrate your courage. If you prefer it quiet, you can enjoy the lake view from the café "Lind am See", from a pedal boat, or from one of the beach chairs. The water-mud area and the adjacent large climbing playground will excite all the "little ones". The path then leads along the Ems into the park area "Living Cultural History" with another observation tower and a view of the nature reserve and FFH area of Rietberger fish ponds. Exploring the barefoot and sensory trail and the playground are further worthwhile experiences. The conclusion of our tour is the nearby Johannes Chapel, Rietberg's most significant cultural-historical monument.
