Prasat Sdok Kok Thom is a large important ancient stone monument in Sa Kaeo Province, located near Ban Nong Samet in Khok Sung Sub-district about 1500 meters from the Thai-Cambodian border in what is geographically the western part of the Cambodian plain. Some media sources indicate that the border area around Prasat Sdok Kok Thom is still disputed. Following the Sdok Kok Thom Inscription No.1., the sanctuary must have been built in the reign of King Jayavarman IV in the Koh Ker style anno 937 AD. According to Sdok Kok Thom Inscription No.2, the sanctuary was built or reconstructed in the reign of King Udhayadhityavarman II AD in the Baphuon style anno 1053. Both stone inscriptions have been preserved at the National Museum in Bangkok.
