I foråret 1945 blev Hildfeld kraftigt beskudt. Først af de allierede og derefter af den tyske artilleri. I landsbyen blev adskillige bygninger ødelagt eller beskadiget. Svært at forestille sig, når man nu ser dette fredelige lille landsby.
