Rees ist eine Stadt am unteren Niederrhein. Sie liegt im Nordwesten des Landes Nordrhein-Westfalen und ist eine kreisangehörige Stadt des Kreises Kleve im Regierungsbezirk Düsseldorf. Rees ist Mitglied der Euregio Rhein-Waal.
