Microbrewery De Backer

Microbrewery De Backer is a small-scale artisanal microbrewery since 2019.

All beers are brewed exclusively and bottled manually within the walls of the former water mill - the "Maelbroekmolen".

We only brew with 100% Belgian malt - 100% Belgian hops - 100% Belgian yeast.

The Maelbroek mill dates from 1547 and served as a grain mill, among other things.

At the time, the iron undershot wheel was one of the largest in Flanders.

The chimney dates from 1894.

The site is very idyllically located next to the Molenbeek and is located along the "Molenbeek path" hiking trail.

Come and taste the artisanally brewed beers! Steffen will be happy to show you around the microbrewery!

The passionate microbrewer lets you smell and taste the ingredients and explains in a clear way how the artisanal beers are made.
