MEETSHOVEN WALK 9KM - along the cave of Meetshoven! Aarschot

The walk starts at restaurant 't Wit Toreke, where there is a large parking lot. Along a drive we go into the forest behind the restaurant. At the start we come across a large dog walking area. We walk further into the forest for 1.5 km. Once out of the forest we walk towards the Liersesteenweg, which we cross when we are a total of 2 km far. 300 meters further we arrive at the cycle path of the Kempen-Hageland route Herentals – Aarschot. This is a detached cycle path completely surrounded by greenery and not located along a motorway. We take this for 1.5 km. When we have walked 4.5 km in total, we leave this cycle path. We walk about 1 km along quiet streets. When there is 5 km on our odometer, we come across a new piece of nature, namely Park de Meertsels. Halfway through this area we pass a charming chapel. We walk out of this area and come across the Liersesteenweg which we cross again. Via some quiet streets we walk back towards Meetshovenbos. Just before Meetshovenbos, when we are 7.5 km far, we come across a Lourdes cave against the 'grotteke van Meetshoven'. A collection of chapels with seats in theatre form. Afterwards we walk back through the Meetshovenbos towards our starting place at restaurant 't Wit Toreke.
