The bridge was built in 1902. It was 54.2 meters long with 3 spans . She was blown up in 1940 to slow the advance of the German army.
The ruin was nicknamed "pont cassé".
The 'passerelle du Breux', rebuilt in 2003 on the ruins of the old tram bridge that was bombed at the end of the Second World War, connects the two lower entrances to the village on the Semois side.
It creates a new 'RAVeL' avenue and plays an essential role in the circulation of people during the famous international street arts festival.
While maintaining the rural and protected character of the site, the materials reinterpret the original. Thus, the remaining stone elements have been restored and stabilized, leaving a heritage and historical testimony . The structure, as in the past, is made of steel, but the shape, height and supporting system have been adapted to current technologies and requirements.
