Between rocks and hedges in Bellevaux

A particularly varied walk that offers beautiful views. The starting point, Huis Maraite, is a characterful building from 1592, and takes you past two viewpoints that present the landscape of the Warche valley in a different light. Initially, we follow a low-traffic road towards the remote hamlet of Tioû. Those who want to see the 'Rocher de Warche' must deviate from the route here and return to their steps.

The short detour is worth it. From the rock, you have a view of the Amblève, which winds its way deep below through the valley. Then we leave the village and the river basin behind and climb along the slopes of the Warche. Here, the river flows slowly, in a landscape that feels more open and rural than its source area in the Hautes Fagnes.

At a crossroads, we continue straight ahead towards the second viewpoint: the 'Rocher de Falise'. From this rock, you overlook the rolling landscape of Bellevaux. Hedges line the meadows, and in spring and autumn, the landscape colors vibrantly without being overwhelming.

Start: Walk towards Huis Maraite. Follow the road to the left.
Recommended: Regular hiking shoes. Bring water. During the weekend, you can have something to eat at the Brasserie de Bellevaux or in the village of Ligneuville.
