The Transperwézienne in Perwez

Perwez, located in the heart of Brabants Haspengouw, is a mirror of this rural region where cycling is very pleasant.

We leave the old Perwez station and take the RAVeL, the old railway line 147 that connected Tamines to Tienen. The route offers beautiful views of the Haspengouw countryside where we also notice a beautiful farm, the farm of Alvaux.

After a moment of cycling along the green route, we visit another farm, the "Ferme de Seumay" which was inhabited by the monks of Heylissem in the 12th century. We now drive in the middle of the fields where beautiful buildings emerge here and there, such as the farm of the Petite Cense, built in brick and stone by Gobertange.

Along the quiet streets we cross the villages of Thorembaisles-Beguines and Wastines. Near the church and its Romanesque tower of the 12th century, the path leads us to the forest of Malèves. Along our route, the Museum of Remembrance 1940-1945 (rue Cul de Sac), founded by a passionate family, evokes the painful war years that the region experienced. A little after the mill of Odenge we arrive in Orbais and discover the farm Vranckx (classified monument).

We return to the RAVel and finish our bucolic tour.
