Along Lake Bütgenbach

You don't need to go abroad to find a nice bike path. The Eastern Townships have traced for you beautiful routes, like this one, between lakes and large horizons.

From the beginning, we travel through open landscapes where we enjoy wide views. We ride on the RAVeL, along the beautiful Lake Bütgenbach, which invites us in summer for a refreshing swim after the bike ride. Further on, the green route offers us images of untouched nature. Shortly after Honsfeld, we discover the Warche which comes alive here in a wet and muddy area.

In Bülingen there is a pleasant crossing to the Vennbahn. The villages radiate tranquility and rurality.

Shortly after Schoppen, we discover Ondenval, where we find the Vennbahn. It was once a strategic railway line for the German army, but today it is one of the most beautiful green roads in Europe. We continue cycling along this route that offers a kaleidoscope on the landscapes of the region. In Waimes, we turn towards Weywertz to return to Lake Bütgenbach.

Departure
At the church in Bütgenbach, follow the signs for Velotour towards exit 94, where the RAVeL begins.

Signage
In Honsfeld, near the old level crossing, leave the RAVeL towards junctions 97, 111, 119, 120, 121, 128. Follow the Vennbahn to Weywertz. After the Vennbahn information sign (Servais garage), leave the Vennbahn and turn right towards junctions 90, 95 and 94.
