The artistically crafted locomotives at the Station of As serve as the starting point for a bike ride through the Hoge Kempen National Park. Through shady forests, you first cycle to Waterschei, where the old mining site, now Thor Park, showcases beautiful industrial heritage.

Then you bike through Genk to Kattevennen, where you can get acquainted with our solar system at the Cosmodrome. Climb the Bliksemtrap for an astronomical view over the Hoge Kempen National Park. On quiet forest paths, you cycle towards Zutendaal and Maasmechelen. At 'Biking through the Heath', enjoy wonderful views over the Mechelse Heide. In August and September, the purple blooming heather adds extra splendor.

Through the garden district and the former mining site of Eisden, you arrive in the unique landscape of Terhills, shaped by the mine and perfected by nature. Here you bike between two mining hills via a pontoon bridge across an old gravel pit. A unique 360° experience etches itself in your memory as you cycle back to Station As.
