Niedersachsen Olympic Center

The Olympic Training Center Niedersachsen is a support and service facility operated by the Lower Saxony State Sports Federation for national squad athletes and their responsible coaches. It primarily serves the training and promotion of top athletes. Its main office is located in the Sports Park Hanover at Ferdinand-Wilhelm-Fricke-Weg 2b in the Calenberger Neustadt, a district of the state capital Hanover.

On September 11, 1986, the current Olympic Training Center Niedersachsen was established as the Olympic Training Center Hanover/Wolfsburg as a support and service facility for national squad athletes and their support staff in Hanover. From the beginning, the Lower Saxony State Sports Federation has been the sponsor of the OSP. Spatially, the OSP initially distributed across the Federal Performance Center Hanover and the former State Performance Center Wolfsburg. Today, the federal training centers in Hanover, Braunschweig, Clausthal-Zellerfeld, Gifhorn, and Salzgitter are managed from Hanover. Since 1993, sports medical care has been directly located at the OSP in the Sports Performance Center Hanover. In 2004, representatives from 23 universities and universities of applied sciences signed the cooperation agreement "Partner University of Top-Level Sports" with the Lower Saxony Minister of Science and the President of the State Sports Federation.
