Jänschwalde Village

Jänschwalde-Dorf, Lower Sorbian Janšojce-Wjas, is a district of the municipality of Jänschwalde in the Spree-Neiße district of Brandenburg. Until October 26, 2003, Jänschwalde-Dorf was an independent municipality administered by the Jänschwalde office; today, the village belongs to the Peitz office.

Jänschwalde-Dorf is located in Lower Lusatia and forms the municipal center of the municipality of Jänschwalde. The town of Peitz is located about seven kilometers to the west and the town of Cottbus about 19 kilometers to the southwest of the village. The district of the district borders to the north on Drewitz and Jänschwalde-Ost, to the east on Grießen and Poland, to the southeast on Briesnig, to the south on Heinersbrück with the villages of Radewiese and Sawoda, to the southwest on Neuendorf with the district of Kleine Heide, to the west on Peitz and to the northwest on Tauer. The area of the former municipality of Horno is included in the district of Jänschwalde.
