The part of the name Voß is the word for fox in the Low German language. Thus, the name of the stream has to do with the presence of foxes in the vicinity of the stream. This was a common procedure for naming in earlier times.
The Voßbach rises west of Ennigerloh near the ECOWEST waste disposal centre at an altitude of 103 m above sea level. The spring itself is a 10 m² area where water pushes to the surface from below/sides. This water flows westwards towards the district of Enniger. Crosses the district in the middle and then flows slightly westwards through the farming community of Wessenhorst. There, the direction of the stream changes to the northwest and forms the municipal boundary between the town of Sendenhorst and the district of Hoetmar for about 3 km. Afterwards we continue along the western edge of the forest of the Kettelerhorst forest area. In the forest there are still oxbows of the Voßbach, some of which are no longer connected to the river. Finally, the Voßbach flows into the Angel about 900 meters after the Kettelerhorst south of Everswinkel, near the Schuter farming community.
