We did this well-signposted two-way hike on 30-08-2023

It is a beautiful, not very difficult nature walk. On this route you will pass by the Roman villa . The village of Nennig has a beautiful market square.

"The sinkhole trail leads its visitors through the hilly hilly landscape near Nennig with beautiful views. The route offers beautiful views of the Moselle valley, rustic forests, extensive orchards and the typical vineyards of the region.

A special highlight is the geological peculiarity of the "sinkhole". For example, funnel, cauldron, or chimney-shaped cavities in karst rock with an underground water drain are called. They are formed by dissolving processes in the subsoil, which are capable of karstification. The exciting tour begins and ends at the Renaissance castle Berg. The last few meters on the way through the vineyards offer an impressive view of the castle complex."
