The Quappenwinkelroute leads us along the beautiful old arms of the Elbe and Havel rivers and along the ditches through forests, fields, and meadows south of the Hanseatic city of Havelberg.

Description

The old arms and drainage ditches are the natural habitat of the burbot, the very tasty and sought-after freshwater cod. This landscape got its name from it. The angle is the triangle between the Lower Havel and the Elbe before the mouth of the Havel into the Elbe near the Hanseatic city of Havelberg.

The starting point of the tour is the Hanseatic city of Havelberg. Along the Havel cycle path, you will discover the special Havel villages Jederitz, Kuhlhausen, Garz, and Warnau. Enjoy the view of the Havel lowlands of Quappenwinkel with the typical pollard willows along the way. Plan a detour to the legendary Frau-Harke village and to Lake Kamernschen. In Sandau (Elbe), end your trip at the church tower with a beautiful view of the Elbe.
