MTB 9 Grüne Hölle Freisen

The tour around Freisen and Oberkirchen requires strength and stamina, but you will be rewarded with beautiful trails, great views and plenty of variety along the way. Here we offer you an extremely challenging tour that requires riding skills.

On 36 km and 1507 m of climbs, you will be guided over some steep sections, numerous trails and meadows and forest paths. The viewpoint on the Hellerberg in the area of the former quarry offers a fantastic panoramic view. This is also where the beautiful Freisen agates were found. These can be admired in the mineral museums in Oberkirchen and Freisen. Absolutely worth seeing is the rarely large basalt rosette on the edge of the path on the Hellerberg. The Mithrastempel near Schwarzerden is also rare in the whole of Central Europe. The Naturwildpark in Freisen with its free-roaming animals and bird of prey show is well worth a visit. Due to the high altitude of Freisen, a wind park has been built from which you can enjoy a beautiful view of the Baumholderer Platte.
