EifelSpur Herb Trail

On the hiking trail "EifelSpur Herb Path," the diverse wild herbs of the region take center stage. The hiking tour between Bad Münstereifel and the nature experience village of Nettersheim is a challenging tour of about 42 kilometers. It is best to divide this tour into 2 stages and stay overnight in Bad Münstereifel.
A whole host of herbs will encounter you on this path: wild garlic, woodruff, dandelion, meadow sage, wood cranesbill, wood avens, and lady's mantle.
Culturally, the hiking tour has a lot to offer. Following the traces of the mysterious Matrons, you will visit two partially reconstructed Roman temples along the way. Cultural offerings await in Bad Münstereifel and Nettersheim.
To prepare for the hike on the Eifel Herb Path, it is worth visiting the well-stocked shop of the Eifel Nature Center in Nettersheim. Here, before your hike in the Eifel, you can browse through various books on wild herbs or experience different herbs in nature in the adjacent farmer's garden.
In Bad Münstereifel, the Schwanen Pharmacy Museum showcases which of the local plants are included in our medicines in its herb garden. There are 27 herbs in the Stephinsky stomach bitters, a very special herbal schnapps that can only be purchased in Bad Münstereifel. Excellent herbal educators who can be individually booked for a hike on the EifelSpur Herb Path will teach you which herbs are best suited - in the kitchen, as medicinal plants, or for dyeing. The annual Eifel Herb Day in Nettersheim and Bad Münstereifel focuses on the herb and plant world of the northern Eifel region.
