Suldrup Lake Path - Heart Path

The 8-hectare Suldrup Lake is surrounded by meadows, marshes, and pasture. With its proximity to the town, the lake has great recreational significance for Suldrup. The path around the lake is a popular walking route throughout the year.

From the parking lot on Dalumvej, the Suldrup Lake Path starts. It is marked and maintained by Suldrup Senior Service. From the parking lot, it is 500 meters to the church's handicap toilet, which is open 24 hours and may be used. About 20 geocaches are placed along large parts of the routes. Find them at: www.geocaching.com.

The lake was restored in the 1970s when the areas were no longer used as grazed meadows and farmland. The wet meadows contain a fine botany with, among other things, orchids and Long-leaved Buttercup.

The paths have been created by the citizens of the town in collaboration with Rebild Municipality, Center Nature and Environment, and private landowners. Traffic should be conducted considerately and only on the paths. Dogs must be kept on leashes. On the east side of the lake, the path goes through fenced areas, which are maintained by grazing horses. The surface of the path is gravel and grass, which can be muddy in wet weather. There are benches all the way around, a picnic house with a grill area and tables/benches, a fishing pier, playground equipment, and a group of sweet little ponies that keep the vegetation down in the area.
