The square was built on the site of the Colegio de San Miguel, which was demolished in the mid-20th century and belonged to the cathedral chapter.
Located next to the city's cathedral, it is accessed by three passageways that lead the first to Avenida de la Constitución, another to Almirantazgo Street and the last to Arfe Street.
It is the work of the architect Joaquín Barquín y Barón and is arranged on a semi-circular plan consisting of a series of arcades, painted by the Sevillian painter José Palomar, which are supported by marble columns . A maximum of three floors were built above the arches. Within the semi-circular square there is a fountain, several shops and a section of the Wall of Seville of approximately 50 meters. It is characterized by the fact that it is a very calm and quiet square, in contrast to its location, with the exception of Sunday mornings when the numismatic and philately market is held in the square where you can buy stamps, banknotes, coins, medals and mineral badges and other products intended for collectors.
