The Van Bergen IJzendoornpark is a city park, located between the Stationsplein, the Crabethstraat, the Van Beverninghlaan and the Nieuwe Gouwe O.Z. in the Dutch city of Gouda.
The park is named after the donor, the mayor of Gouda, Albertus Adrianus van Bergen IJzendoorn. At the time of his death in 1895, he had bequeathed ƒ 40,000 to the municipality of Gouda. The amount was intended to build a walking park just outside the city buildings at the time. He had also stipulated that the park should be accessible from several sides. In Gouda, Van Dolder de Wit and Sprokholt mention the garden architect Hendrik Copijn as the designer of the park. In 1897 he drew up a plan for the park in the English landscape style. Characteristic of this style are the winding paths, ponds and bat bridges. In Groen van toen (Green of the time), Van Elswijk mentions the firm of Groenewegen and Zoon as the designers. Their plan was well received by the Gouda municipal authorities and they were commissioned to lay out the eastern part of the park in 1901. At the entrance to the park on the station side, two pillars were placed with the lions on them, from the Kleiwegspoort, which was demolished in 1843.
