Farsta gravfältet

On a hill immediately west of the factory area is a graveyard with a total of 45 visible grave sites. The cemetery is the grave of the appearance that the judge laid out during the early Iron Age and in all likelihood, this is the prehistoric Farsta Manor graveyard. Five of the graves examined by the Stockholm City Museum 1941st They surveyed the graves were relatively poor bargain, but a number of iron rivets, some burnt bones, parts of a clay pot and four glass beads were found. Of interest is that two of the tombs gave the East-West oriented kistgropar which can be a sign that those buried here were Christians. This date in this case, the graves of the transition between Iron Age and Middle Ages. Through the survey was phosphate samples in the farmland south of the cemetery. The results of the samples showed that the site of the prehistoric Farsta farm buildings probably existed here. This was its acknowledgment of the archaeological investigations conducted in the 1990s before the construction of new housing in Farsta, where remnants of houses from 800's to the early Middle Ages were found on the hill south of the cemetery
