Fever bunny

The nearly 50-kilometer loop from Fieberbrunn is a bike classic, here in the gravel variant. Passing through St. Johann in Tirol, Kirchdorf, Waidring, St. Ulrich am Pillersee, and just past Hochfilzen, the challenging route leads through the most beautiful valleys and landscapes of the region between the Wilder Kaiser and the Loferer Steinberge. Highlights include the Großache, the entrance to the Griesebachklamm, as well as the Pillersee and its moorland. The paths are mostly paved, with a mix of gravel and asphalt. Especially in the villages, there are numerous inns for refreshments.
Starting directly from Fieberbrunn train station, the route goes clockwise, initially heading west towards St. Johann. With the Wilder Kaiser always in view, the ride is mostly pleasant on good gravel paths. After eight kilometers, one can take a break at the farm shop at Lafferhof behind the St. Johann airfield. St. Johann itself is largely bypassed in green surroundings. Just before Kirchdorf, you reach the Großache, where the path is only partially gravelled. The riverside path leads through Kirchdorf and continues towards Erpfendorf, where it is then left behind. Now, you bike upward towards the east, passing the entrance to the Griesbachklamm, until reaching Waidring below the Steinplatte. The route then turns south into the narrow Pillerseetal. On gravel paths, you reach the beautiful Pillersee with the moorland located south of it. Just before the final ascent towards Hochfilzen, there's an opportunity for a snack at Strasserwirt, the oldest inn in the Pillerseetal. With a view of the Loferer Steinberge, it goes to Wiesensee and up to the highest point at the eastern foot of Buchensteinwand, and then, leaving Hochfilzen to the left, you return on a panoramic path to Fieberbrunn train station.
