Vespa Club Tessenderlo

Club ride: June 25, 2023 - departure 9:00 AM.

Ride Master Marco takes us on this very hot day to Maasmechelen by the Maas where we participate in the Wespenrit 2023 from Vespa Club Maasmechelen. We ride in one go so that we can stay ahead of the predicted heat and devour the first 60 kilometers in a short time without a stop.

Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed and guided to the wasp parking area on the domain where VCMM has its club house. The temperature had already risen significantly, so we hurried to quench our thirst and complete the registration. At the registration, we received a goody bag and a delicious croissant that we devoured with something refreshing in the cafeteria.

Around 11:45 AM, the ride master signaled that we were going to start the wasp ride. We strolled together casually to the parking lot and prepared our starters. The ride master took the pole position, followed by the road captains, and then our members lined up at the back. We left the parking lot in staggered formation and were waved off by several members of VCMM who kept everything in order.

The wasp ride takes us through the beautiful landscapes between Maasmechelen and Riemst. Scenic views, hills, and beautiful roads dominate the sight. It quickly became clear that all members appreciated this.

Halfway through the ride, there was a stop where one could buy a delicious cake with a soda to take a breather. The heat and concentrated riding took its toll on all participants, with much huffing and complaining about the heat. And we must admit that at temperatures of 32 degrees, the refreshment on a Vespa is also a bit lacking.

After half an hour, we started part two of the wasp ride. Enjoying these still beautiful landscapes and winding roads we traversed.

After 86 km, we returned to the home base of VCMM and were once again warmly welcomed and sought out the cafeteria to get some necessary refreshment!

Once everyone returned to normal temperature, we headed towards the clubhouse and started part two of Marco's ride!

Given the need to rest our bodies and refresh ourselves in a timely manner, a suitable stop was made: Praatcafé 't Cultureel Zonhoven

The last kilometers began to weigh on many of our members as they looked forward to the final stop Black & White. At the final stop, we plopped down on the terrace for a pleasant chat and took a moment to relax until it was time to head home.

Once again, it was a delightful day combined with two beautiful rides and 214 kilometers added to our Vespa odometer!

We are already looking forward to next Sunday, make sure you don't miss it!
