Route information

Discover four unique mountain bike routes through the beautiful landscape in the heart of the Flemish Ardennes. Rolling hills, green forests, winding trails and breathtaking views set the scene for a wonderful mountain biking adventure.

From challenging climbs to adventurous singletracks, each route has its own character and offers plenty of challenge and riding enjoyment.

 

Green loop

Short but sweet

At 13.2 km, with no less than 85% off-road, the green loop is the shortest of the four routes, but has the highest proportion of unpaved roads. Ideal for children and families, and for anyone who enjoys off-road riding and exploring nature. Want to add a few more kilometres? No problem! You can decide along the way to join a longer route and continue your adventure.

 

Blue loop

Discover more

The blue loop takes you over 22.6 km, of which 65% is unpaved. It offers a lovely mix of challenging trails, rolling landscapes and green surroundings. Connections from Maarkedal and Horebeke also join the route along the way, making it part of a wider network of mountain biking routes.

 

Red loop

Conquer the Koppenberg

Ready for a serious challenge? The red loop covers 24.3 km, of which 69% is unpaved, and takes you past the iconic Koppenberg. Experience this legendary climb in a different way and discover how the Flemish Ardennes combine their challenging terrain with beautiful nature and unique views. This route also connects to the route from Kluisbergen, making it easy to extend your mountain biking adventure.

 

Purple loop

For those who love racking up the kilometres

The purple loop is for anyone who enjoys spending a little longer on their mountain bike. At 33.7 km, with 55% unpaved roads, it is the longest of the four routes. The trail follows the outer sections of the various loops and takes you on an extensive discovery tour through the rolling landscape around Oudenaarde.

 

Combining the loops

See the purple loop. You can also combine routes using the connections to the surrounding routes in Kluisbergen, Maarkedal and Wortegem-Petegem.
