Felsen.Mühlen.Pfefferkuchen

In an interplay of light and shadow, the Löbau water meanders through the rocky valley of the Gröditzer Skala. The kingfisher breeds in its cave by the stream, bats dance in the nightly moonlight and the little wren greets hikers from afar with a loud trill. The nature reserve between the towns of Weicha and Gröditz is one of the last witnesses of glacial changes in the region. With its rock formations, waters and sparse forests, the Skala offers a unique natural experience.
The "White Pearl", Gröditz Castle, proudly towers above the Skala in the west. The lavishly restored castle park is of particular regional historical value due to the inclusion of an old Slavic redoubt.
Long-dormant water mills surround the village of Gröditz. Along a disused railroad line, a stone viaduct offers hikers an impressive panoramic view. In Weißenberg, the trail leads to the "Alte Pfefferküchlerei" museum.
