Åmølle route (7.8 km round trip)

Starting point: The route starts at Kongsdal Marina, Kongsdal Havn 8, 9550 Kongsdal Huse.

There is free parking without time limit at the parking lot by the marina.

Public transport: Bus line 234 bus stop 'Kongsdalvej' is located 550 meters from the starting point of the route.

Experiences: The tour offers varied nature with both forest, fjord, and open areas. Along the way, the route passes the cozy Åmølle Inn and the atmospheric Falslev Church.

Åmølle is a historical place with roots dating back to 1329. Today it serves as an inn, hotel, and event space.

A large part of the route runs along the old Hadsund railway. The Hadsund railway opened in 1883 and operated as a railway until its closure in 1969. In the 1980s, the former railway embankment was transformed into a path for soft traffic.

Today, the Hadsund railway is a 7 km bike/walking path that follows the old railway line between Åmølle by Mariager Fjord and Trudsholm near Havndal.

QR codes are set up along the route, where you can listen to short stories about the area in Danish, English, and German.

At the Åmølle starting point of the route, there are good facilities for both children and adults, including a playground, rest areas, and parking options.

Marking: The route is clearly marked with yellow arrows in both directions, making it easy to follow.

NOTICE: Note that parts of the path along the fjord may be wet depending on the season and water level, so good footwear is recommended.

The national bicycle route 5 and the North Sea Trail also share the route on the old railway path.
