Through the Meuse Valley, the Jeker Valley, and Maastricht

This alternating cycling junction route is almost entirely flat with the exception of one long hill (between KP 15 and KP 10).
The first stretch of 50 m. (after a narrow right angle turn to the left, at 13.5 km from the start) is very steep (approx. 20%). After that, it becomes almost 2 km of climbing at 8%.
This route is completely paved.
In the past, the villages in the Jekerdal, such as Roclenge and Bassenge, were very prosperous due to the production of straw top hats for men. Unfortunately, little remains of that wealth now (here and there a few remarkable mansions). This makes the surroundings sometimes a bit dreary, but also truly un-Dutch.

Starting and ending point is the free parking lot opposite "Eetcafé Riekélt" in Rijckholt (address: Rijksweg 184, 6247 AN Gronsveld).
Along the way, there are dining options, including in Houtain-St. Siméon, past Wonck, in Kanne, and Maastricht.
