Vespa Club Tessenderlo

Club ride: April 23, 2023 - departure 10 am.

Today we are heading out to our colleagues from Vespa Club Bilzen.

We meet at Black&White where Chris (top café owner) will exceptionally welcome us from 9:30 am to provide us with a warm coffee or something refreshing. After the introduction of the route and safety rules, we will leave promptly at 10 am for today's adventure. We leave with the forecast of rain in the later afternoon and aim to stay ahead of it. After about 40 km, we arrive at our first stop Domain Nieuwenhoven - 't Kelshof. A beautiful location in the middle of nature! After enjoying ourselves on the terrace, we continue the ride.

The beautiful ride there was a success with lovely sunshine and a pleasant temperature of 17°C that led us through beautiful blossoms on picturesque roads. Upon arrival at the VCB event, we were warmly welcomed by the helping hands at the designated parking. The turnout was impressive knowing we were in a very beautiful setting. We took a short walk around the event grounds and decided to have a drink first to discuss what we would do due to the weather forecasts. With heavy hearts, it was decided not to ride the VCB routes but to stay ahead of the rain, so after our refreshments, we departed towards the club location. At the start of the second half of the ride, we still had the sun with us, but as we got closer to our home base, it grew darker and darker, and yes, what had to happen did happen – the first drops of rain were a reality.

In the meantime, we did enjoy the super beautiful ride from Gert, which we will definitely go ride again in a private atmosphere.

About 10 kilometers before the finish line, we got hit hard with rain which we hadn’t anticipated since all the weather apps said we would stay dry. But not so!

The conclusion for today is that it was a great ride that we enjoyed, and nobody can take that away from us.

Thank you to everyone who was present and took the risk despite the weather forecasts.
