Club ride: Rijkevorsel 125Km - August 11, 2024 - departure 11 AM.

It’s that time again, we can hit the road once more!

Our experienced ride master Theo has set out a beautiful route for us. This time the ride heads towards Rijkevorsel.

Starting point: Clubhouse Black & White. From here, we head towards Klein Vorst, Meerhout, where we cross the canal at the Meerhout-Veerdijk. We then drive to the Heihoeve, a children's farm that is definitely worth a visit. We leave the canal and continue on to Geel. Via the Poiel we reach Larum, where we can admire a windmill on the left. We wind through this beautiful landscape until we arrive at lock 9 and cross another canal, the Bocholt-Herentals canal. Shortly after, we see the Molen van ’t Veld on the right side. A little further, adventurous souls can return for a canoe adventure at kano.be on sunny days. It’s really fun to do!

Via Lichtaart, Tielen, Poederlee, Lille, and Wechelderzande we finally arrive at our first scheduled stop; Den Tourist, where we can quench our thirst. After a pleasant time on the terrace, we get back on our Vespas and continue the ride towards Rijkevorsel. The route offers peace, and the riders fully enjoy the beautiful roads and landscapes, which was clearly visible. From the turning point in Rijkevorsel, we head towards Beerse, trying to avoid the center as much as possible, and continue on to Gierle. Here, too, we stay away from the busy center to enjoy the quieter roads and beautiful landscapes.

Suddenly, we feel thirsty again, so it's time to stop 😉 Theo has chosen Taverne Molenstee. A beautiful place with sufficient parking on the side and back of the venue. In front, you’ll find the outdoor terrace which extends like a maze. Here, coziness is created by enclosing the seating areas with beautiful green hedges, and each place was equipped with a parasol, which was certainly applicable on this lovely summer day. Everyone could appreciate a spot in the shade.

After a nice cool drink and some sweets enjoying ice cream, we continue our journey.

We pass Tielen again, this time from the other side. So we drive through Geel Ten Aard towards Meerhout. We avoid this center due to the speed limit of 30 km/h throughout Meerhout. Even on a Vespa, this is too slow for us.

Eventually, we return to the familiar Clubhouse for a cozy chat about the ride and what we have seen.

Another successful day with 43 cheerful Vespa drivers!
