Runner's ear

Lauffohr is a village in the Swiss canton of Aargau. Until 1970, Lauffohr was an independent political municipality in the district of Brugg and has since belonged to Brugg.

At the former eastern municipal boundary lies the water castle of Switzerland. Here, three of the most important rivers in the country meet: firstly, the Reuss flows into the Aare, and a kilometer and a half further north is the Limmat. The old core of the village, which has a street-like layout, is located in the narrow pass between the 522-meter-high Reinerberg and the mouth of the Limmat. To the southwest, a narrow, densely populated settlement area stretches at the foot of the Bruggerberg, seamlessly merging into the development of Brugg. South of that lies the agriculturally used Aufeld plain.
