Hike: From above - Cottbus Towers

The cityscape of Cottbus is also characterized by small and large towers. Two of them can be climbed. Others also make attractive photo motifs. The largest hall church in Lower Lusatia, the Oberkirche St. Nikolai, is visible from afar. Those who dare to climb stairs and narrow steps will be rewarded with a panoramic view over the roofs of the city. Smaller, but no less significant for Cottbuss history, was the Münzturm, where the Cottbuser Taler was once minted. You can reach the Münzturm via Münzstraße, it is part of the city wall. Leave the Münzturm behind and cross the tram tracks on Sandower Straße. At the level of the Tuchmacherbrunnen, the easy and short ascent to Schlossberg begins just behind the gate. The Gerichtsturm proclaims the time far and wide, in the neighboring former castle justice is now served. Leave Schlossberg via its driveway and reach the street Am Spreeufer on the left via the idyllic Gerichtsplatz. Follow the street over Neustädter and Brandenburger Platz to Spremberger Turm. More than 100 steps lead to the Dicker, the Cottbus landmark. After the climb, the cafes and restaurants in the Cottbus Old Town invite you to feast.
