Postbotensteig

The route starts from the tourist information office and first leads briefly uphill to the so-called Huberkreuz, from where it continues to the war memorial. Here you can enjoy the view over Sommerau and the Großer Arber. The trail then continues uphill on an easy path through the high forest to the hamlet of Oberhaiderberg, whose meadows surrounding the wooded areas catch the eye. The next view from Oberhaidberg is directly towards Lohberg. The two Osser peaks can be seen to the right, the Arber and Schwarzeck to the left and the Hohenbogen with its towers in the distance in front of us. The path then leads south towards Eben, where the Forstgut once again offers a good opportunity to take in the view of the Osser and the Künische Gebirge, while the mountain range from the Schwarzeck to the Arber presents itself to the west. From Forstgut, the trail continues downhill to Ebensäge - a popular place for a picnic break. From here, the hike continues on a forest road in the direction of Sommerau, where you meet the Weißer Regen, which has its source above the Kl. After a slight ascent in the village and a walking time of approx. 3-4 hours and a distance of just under 9 km, you have reached Lohberg again. Refreshment stops: in the village of Lohberg
