Facing the departure sign, head right to take the Voie Verte Sud-Ardennes. Continue along the Voie Verte for 1.2km which will take you beneath the village church. Leave the Voie Verte by taking the grassy path to the right. After 250m on this towpath, take the stairs on your left and, at the top of them, turn right. This new section of the Voie Verte will lead you to the chapel that commemorates the vanished village. Nearby, a monument is erected in honor of the fighters of the 35th RI during the invasion of May-June 1940. Six resistance fighters also perished there on September 1, 1944. The place is also an ideal location for a picnic break and is equipped with a table for that purpose. Turn back and return along the same path towards the village of Givry-sur-Aisne. Upon exiting the “Chemin de Montmarin,” turn left towards the church where you can admire frescos dating from 1956. At the intersection with the main road, turn left (marker 13/15) then take another left onto “Rue du Château” until you reach your starting point.
