Statua Giuseppe Verdi - Palermo

Antonio Ugo 's empathetic portrait of the famous composer Giuseppe Verdi stands almost as a patron of Palermo opera.

Verdi stands intriguingly and proudly in his apparent defile on the left flank of the pronaos hexastyle (in ancient temples this is the space in front of the cella preceded by columns) of the Basile Teatro Massimo.

Basile composed the small marble monument according to a strict symmetrical verticality in which the eurythmic phytomorphic element of the long-leaved palm leaf stands out, from which two rows of fanning ribbons branch out, characterized by full formal compliance with the Basilian floral lexicon.
