You follow the route clockwise starting from the large parking lot at the church of Vessem. You cycle towards the Mispeleindsche Heide, and through this nature reserve on narrower, free-standing bike paths. After that, you cycle through the De Utrecht estate along wonderfully quiet roads. You leave the Netherlands via a well-rideable unpaved bike path along a sandy road of one kilometer in length. You will have cycled for 11 km solely through nature reserves.

Then you enter Belgium where you cycle not through nature but through agricultural landscape, often on good concrete roads. You leave Belgium via a two-lane concrete slab road. Via Baarle-Nassau and the Bels Lijntje (bike path over a former railway line) you cycle through the nature reserve Alphense Bergen to Alphen.

Then the route heads back towards Belgium via Aarle and Poppel. Between Alphen and Poppel you also cycle a bit on a narrower asphalted bike path. After Poppel, at the Tuylerheide nature reserve, you leave Belgium again and cycle through a forest which is closed to cars by a barrier. Just before crossing the N269, you cycle along a gravel road, if you were to ride down the gravel road, you would reach the Melkfabriek after 200 meters. Via Esbeek, Baarschot, and Middelbeers you will return to Vessem.
