Trail starts at the long term parking lot of Vista do Rei (other parking lots are limited to 20 minutes).

After 1 km you reach the abandoned Hotel Monte Palace. Although forbidden, jump over the brick wall and take some time to carefully explore the ruin. From the balconies and the rooftop you have a fantastic view over the island.

The trail around Sete Cidades is more or less a combination of the yellow/red marked trails PR3SMI Vista do Rei - Sete Cidades and PR4SMI Mata do Canário - Sete Cidades but at a certain moment (after +/- 15 km) you'll have to leave the marked trail to make your way back to the starting point.
