Mirador de las Narices del Teide

At this viewpoint you have a view of the Pico Viejo volcano.

It is the second highest peak in Tenerife with a height of 3,135 meters above sea level and a huge crater with a diameter of approximately 720 meters.

The volcano is part of the Teide volcanic complex, which began to form in central Tenerife about 200,000 years ago. The crater is one of the satellite craters around El Teide.

The volcano last erupted in 1798 and it is estimated that approximately 12 million m³ of lava was ejected in three months, creating a black colored surface, which is different from the rest of the volcanic area , known as Teide -noses.

There are several hiking trails that lead to the summit and crater of Pico Viejo, making it a popular destination for adventurous hikers.
