Ermita de las Nieves - El Teide

Ermita de las Nieves is also known as the Hermitage of Our Lady of the Snows.

The hermitage is dedicated to Our Lady of the Snows, a popular saint in Spanish and Latin American Catholic traditions. This saint is often invoked for protection against natural disasters and for a good harvest . It is a place of pilgrimage for believers, especially during holidays dedicated to the Virgin Mary.

The hermitage has a simple and rustic design, characteristic of many rural chapels in Tenerife. The building is small but charming, often whitewashed with a modest interior. Although modest, it is a good example of the traditional architectural style of religious structures on the island.

Inside the chapel, the delicate white marble statue of the Virgin of the Snows with the child in her arms and the replica of the World Youth Day Youth Cross stand out.
