Fairly easy and interesting walk in the most eastern tip of Madeira, the São Lourenço peninsula. The coastal geomorphology is dramatic. This part of Madeira is a dry grassland and thus contrasts with the rest of the island. The walk is very popular among visitors. It is mentioned in many of the travel guides and brochures, hence, you will never be alone on the worn out paths and stairs.
Mind you: the elevation information on this walk, like on most other walks in Madeira is not trustworthy. This is mostly due to the very dramatic relief of Madeira and the low quality of the elevation maps available. In most cases the elevation information automatically provided with the walks in RouteYou is an exaggeration of reality.
